12th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity_Session List Organized by JPI
The “Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity” was launched in 2001 as a vehicle for discussions on regional multilateral cooperation and promotion of peace and shared prosperity. Jeju Forum makes significant contributions to building a thriving community in East Asia. It is held every May in Jeju, the Island of World Peace. Hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and sponsored by MOFA, it focuses on discussions about the visions needed to realize sustainable peace and prosperity in East Asia over the long term. Jeju Forum has emerged as one of the most prestigious international public policy forums in Asia through the selection of the most compelling agenda of the time, coupled with the participation of various former state heads and world-renowned experts in various fields.
The three-day forum features more than 60 sessions, enabling participants from all walks of life to gain deep insights into current global issues and broaden the horizon of their human networking. Based on the international consensus on the overall theme of peace and prosperity in East Asia, the forum provides leaders in a variety of fields such as politics, public administration, business, academe, and media with interaction opportunities to boost the overall regional peace and cooperation with the ultimate goal of contributing to the achievement of world peace and international cooperation through the implementation of future-oriented visions that it puts forth through collective intelligence. The 12th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity is set to be held on May 31- June 2, 2017 at ICC in Seogwipo, Jeju, with “Sharing a Common Vision for Asia's Future” as the major theme.
